Maccabi Tel Aviv is preparing to host Maccabi Haifa in a highly anticipated match on Monday, marking the first encounter between the two clubs in the 2026/27 Israeli Premier League season. Despite it being only the second matchday, the game is considered one of the biggest fixtures in Israeli football.
Maccabi Tel Aviv, referred to as "the Yellows," is expected to field a largely unchanged lineup from their previous game, with the exception of Noam Ben Harush starting in place of the ill Tyris Asante. Goalkeeper Ofek Malika is suspended after being sent off in the last match against Hapoel Jerusalem, meaning Roey Mefeshti will start in goal. Additionally, Sagiv Yehezkel will be absent due to a lingering abdominal injury.
"We need to maintain positive momentum," stated a team player. "Especially in our home game, in front of our fans, we need to take three points. Those in the squad are good enough to do it."
The projected starting lineup for Maccabi Tel Aviv includes Roey Mefeshti, Noam Ben Harush, Ali Maaloul, Raz Shlomo, Roy Revivo, Ibrahima Sissoko, Idan Shachar, Dor Peretz, Osher Davida, Jelle Varela, and Ester Sukler.
