Popular Camembert Cheese Recalled in Israel Due to Listeria Contamination
Gad Dairy is initiating an urgent product recall for its "Camembert - Ripe Cheese with White Mold 33% Fat" (130g) due to the detection of Listeria monocytogenes bacteria. The contamination was identified during a check by the French manufacturer, SASSO FROMAGERIES COMTOISES. The affected batch has an expiration date of September 7, 2026, batch number BFBN, and barcode 7290019635208.
Listeria monocytogenes can cause serious illness, particularly in high-risk groups such as individuals with weakened immune systems, the elderly, and pregnant women, where it can lead to miscarriages. Gad Dairy is coordinating with the Ministry of Health's Food Service to remove the product from distribution channels.
