Israeli MK Yulia Malinovsky Files Complaint Against Businessman Over Hamas Ties
In 2024, Israeli Knesset member Yulia Malinovsky from the Yisrael Beiteinu party filed a complaint with the police and Shin Bet against businessman Shlomi Fogel, accusing him of having connections with Hamas. Malinovsky's revelation followed a report by journalist Ben Caspit about Fogel, who is close to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, engaging in direct contacts with the terrorist organization.
Malinovsky stated that she encountered Fogel's name repeatedly during investigations into Hamas's funding sources in 2024, particularly linked to the cement industry. She alleged that Fogel met with businessmen connected to Hamas and conducted business dealings in Gaza, reportedly on behalf of the Prime Minister but without the approval of Israel's security apparatus.
The Knesset member accused authorities of failing to act on her complaint due to concerns about confronting an associate of the Prime Minister. She emphasized that this situation poses a serious threat to national security and called for a thorough investigation into Fogel's economic and business interests in the Gaza Strip.
