Protest leader Dr. Shikma Bressler said Tuesday in an interview with 103FM that Likud MK Tally Gotliv is creating uproar for “her momentary political success,” while accusing her of endangering state security. The comments came as the Knesset House Committee discussed Gotliv’s request to determine immunity from criminal prosecution.
Bressler said Gotliv is not acting in isolation, arguing that “there are thousands of security workers in Israel who know today that a Knesset member is willing to turn them into a target, unlawfully, while harming the security of the state.” She added that this reflects a government willing to damage national security and “abandon civilians” to advance “their crazy ideology or their personal interest.”
She also described the personal exposure of her partner, who served for decades “under the radar,” saying that being suddenly exposed on social media was “a complicated moment.” She said they are taking the necessary precautions regarding threats to their lives, but would not give details. Bressler was responding to a conspiracy theory alleging that her partner held conversations with Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar before and after the October 7 attack.
Bressler linked the rumors to what she called “mind engineering” by people strongly supporting the current government. She said the pattern is long-running, citing Gotliv’s alleged breach of Shin Bet law alongside what she described as the government’s history of strengthening Hamas for political reasons. She claimed Benjamin Netanyahu adopted the idea that “Hamas is an asset” over the past decade, and said ministers Bezalel Smotrich, Itamar Ben Gvir, Yitzhak Goldknopf and Miri Regev helped finance Hamas with hundreds of millions of dollars despite knowing it supported terror buildup. Asked whether Netanyahu personally targeted her and sent Gotliv to attack her, she replied that the key issue is the country’s condition, saying the October 7 massacre was not accidental and that it is time to stop the leadership’s direction.
