Lebanon Says It Will Intensify Efforts for Full Israeli Withdrawal
Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam said Lebanon will step up its efforts to secure a complete Israeli withdrawal from Lebanese territory through ongoing negotiations in Washington.
His comments came in response to the U.S.-Iran agreement. Salam said Lebanon would "double its efforts" to achieve that goal, and expressed hope that the ceasefire arrangement between the United States and Iran would help end the war.
He said he hoped the deal would stop "the killing, destruction, displacement and all the other tragedies and suffering caused to the Lebanese people." The statement did not provide details on the negotiations or a timeline for any withdrawal.
