Hasidic Duo Zusha Gains Millions of Fans with Unique Folk-Soul Sound

Zusha, a musical duo from Manhattan consisting of Shlomo Gaisin and Zachariah Goldschmidt, has captivated millions worldwide with their distinctive blend of folk, soul, and Hasidic melodies. Though their names may be unfamiliar to the general public, the pair has become celebrities within the Hasidic community, drawing enthusiastic crowds wherever they perform. During a recent visit to Israel, they sold out three concerts and attracted hundreds of fans eager for selfies.

Both musicians were born and raised in modern Orthodox Jewish homes in New York and met during their university studies, where they were introduced to Hasidic teachings emphasizing joyful devotion and music. Since 2013, Zusha has developed a unique sound combining folk, electronic music, and Hasidic nigunim sung in Hebrew, English, and Aramaic. Their innovative style has earned them a loyal following, numerous releases, and collaborations with artists like Akiva and an upcoming joint single with Ishay Ribo.

Their breakthrough in Israel came with the hit song "Daven-in," which gained widespread attention through a Hanukkah video showing hundreds of Israelis from diverse backgrounds singing together in Jerusalem. The song was subsequently added to the popular Galgalatz radio playlist and featured in live performances, cementing Zusha's place in the Israeli music scene.
