Maccabi Tel Aviv to Host European Matches in Batumi, Georgia
Maccabi Tel Aviv said on Monday, June 15, 2026, that it will play its European home matches at Adjarabet Arena in Batumi, Georgia, as it begins the 2026/27 season. Because the club won the State Cup, it will open its European campaign in the Europa League qualifiers.
The stadium is a modern venue that opened in 2020 and seats about 20,000 spectators. It is located in Batumi, one of Georgia’s main tourist cities.
The club said Batumi was chosen partly because it is easy for Israeli fans to reach. According to the statement, there are many direct flights from Israel, travel time is short, and arrivals are convenient throughout the week.
Maccabi added that the choice would help many supporters follow the team closely and create a home-like atmosphere in Europe. The club said this would give the players the backing they receive everywhere the team plays.
