Maccabi Tel Aviv to Host Its European Home Matches in Batumi, Georgia
Maccabi Tel Aviv announced on Monday that it will host its European matches at Adjarabet Arena in Batumi, Georgia as it prepares for the 2026/27 season. Because of its Israel State Cup victory, the club will begin its European campaign in the Europa League qualifying rounds.
The stadium, also known as Batumi Stadium, was opened in 2020 and holds about 20,000 spectators. It is located in Batumi, one of Georgia’s major tourist cities.
The club said the choice was made in part because Batumi offers relatively easy access for Israeli fans, including many direct flights from Israel, short travel times and convenient arrival options throughout the week.
Maccabi said in its statement, “We are confident that the choice of Batumi will allow many Maccabi fans to continue following the team closely, create a home-like and warm atmosphere even on the European stage, and give the players the support that accompanies the club everywhere.”
