Israeli Singer Sasson Shaulov Indicted for Running Red Light in Tel Aviv Crash

Sasson Shaulov, a well-known Israeli singer, has been indicted by the Tel Aviv Traffic Prosecution Department for a car accident that occurred on July 3, 2026, at around 1:58 a.m. The incident took place at a major intersection in southern Tel Aviv, where Shaulov allegedly ran a red light while driving his BMW on Herzl Street approaching the Jaffa Road junction. According to the indictment, Shaulov collided with a Hyundai vehicle that was lawfully passing through the intersection on a green light, carrying three young passengers. The driver of the Hyundai was injured and required hospitalization.

The indictment charges Shaulov with three offenses: running a red light, reckless driving, and causing damage. It explicitly states that the traffic lights were functioning properly at the time, with no technical faults to explain the accident. The prosecution claims Shaulov acted carelessly by failing to pay attention to the road and the traffic signals, entering the intersection despite the red light and obstructing the other vehicle.
