Singer Sasson Ephraim Shaulov Indicted for Running Red Light and Causing Crash in Tel Aviv

Singer Sasson Ephraim Shaulov was indicted on August 23, 2026, for running a red light and colliding with another vehicle in Tel Aviv. The accident occurred in the early morning hours of July 3 at the intersection of Herzl Street and Jaffa Road. According to the indictment, Shaulov was driving a BMW on Herzl Street and proceeded through the intersection despite the red traffic light. At the same time, a car carrying three 18-year-old passengers from Netanya entered the intersection on a green light, leading to the collision.

The prosecution alleges that Shaulov drove recklessly, failed to pay adequate attention to the road, and did not notice the traffic signal or the nearby vehicle in time. As a result of the crash, the driver and one passenger of the other car were injured and required medical treatment. Both vehicles sustained damage. Immediately after the accident, the young passengers reported that Shaulov admitted responsibility at the scene, telling the driver, "This is not your fault, it’s my fault. I ran the red light."

Fifty-one days after the incident, the investigation culminated in the filing of charges against Shaulov for running a red light, reckless driving, and causing damage. Police clarified that there was no suspicion of alcohol impairment, but Shaulov’s driver’s license was revoked following the event.
