Israeli Actress Caroline Langford Dies at 68 After Cancer Battle

Caroline Langford, an actress known for her roles in several Israeli films and the former wife of director Assi Dayan, passed away at age 68 following a prolonged fight with cancer. Born in London in 1958, Langford immigrated to Israel at age 14 and began her acting career in the 1980s. She appeared in films such as "Banot," "King for a Day," and "Am Yisrael Chai," and was especially remembered for her roles in the prank films by Yehuda Barkan and Yigal Shilon, including "Smile, You’re Dead," "See You Around," and "See You at the Beach."

Langford met director Assi Dayan on the set of "King for a Day," and they married in 1982. Their son, Lior Dayan, was born a year later. After their divorce, Lior was placed with a foster family in a kibbutz, and Langford left Israel. She remarried twice more, with her last marriage to Gil Bakenstein, a former Israeli, with whom she lived in Los Angeles.
