Hapoel Jerusalem Negotiating With Veteran Guard Jalen Smith
Hapoel Jerusalem has begun planning for next season after its elimination in the semifinal stage of the playoffs. The club has already officially parted ways with Yotam Alon and is expected to announce Sasha Obradovic as its new head coach in the coming days.
In the meantime, Jerusalem has identified a major addition for its backcourt and is in talks with American-Croatian guard Jalen Smith, who is 30 years old and 1.93 meters tall. Smith has extensive experience in European basketball.
Last season, Smith played for Turk Telekom, where he stood out in the EuroCup. He was particularly impressive in the quarterfinals, when the Turkish side beat Hapoel Jerusalem in a dramatic game. The report did not say whether the negotiations are close to a final agreement.
