Body of Missing 24-Year-Old Israeli Found Near Tiberias After Weeklong Search

The search for 24-year-old Katriel Nachman Keinan from Beit Shemesh ended tragically when his body was discovered on Thursday in the Switzerland Forest area near Tiberias. Keinan had been missing for over a week after last being seen on August 10 around 6 p.m. near the Guy Beach on the Sea of Galilee shore while en route to Safed. Contact with him was lost shortly thereafter, prompting police to issue a public description and request assistance in locating him.

His body was found in a complex terrain near a cliff, requiring coordinated efforts between rescue teams and ZAKA volunteers from the northern district. At 1:40 p.m., ZAKA received a report of a body in the area, and after identification procedures, it was confirmed to be Keinan. ZAKA team leader Shay Levy described the scene as very challenging due to the difficult terrain, necessitating joint operations with rescue forces to recover the body respectfully.

Keinan was last seen wearing a white shirt, black pants, a hat, carrying a black backpack and a dark brown tefillin bag. The search had mobilized police and volunteers since his disappearance. The recovery operation continues with care to honor the deceased.
