Maccabi Haifa Loans Nigerian Midfielder Peter Agba to Hungarian Champions Győr for One Season
Maccabi Haifa has officially announced the loan of 23-year-old Nigerian midfielder Peter Agba to Hungarian champions Győr for the upcoming season. Agba joined Maccabi Haifa a year ago from Slovenian club Olimpija Ljubljana for an estimated fee of around one million euros. During his single season at Haifa, he made 27 appearances across all competitions and scored one goal.
Despite signing a three-year contract with an option for an additional year, Agba struggled to secure a regular starting position in the team. The loan move aims to provide him with more playing time and help him maintain match fitness while continuing his development in European competitions.
This transfer also frees up a crucial foreign player slot in Maccabi Haifa’s squad, allowing the club to pursue additional foreign reinforcements. The club is actively exploring options to strengthen its wings and attacking midfield as it prepares for the remainder of the league season and other tournaments.
