Maccabi Haifa Loans Peter Agaba to Hungarian Champions Győr
Maccabi Haifa officially announced the loan of Nigerian midfielder Peter Agaba to Győr, the Hungarian league champions, on August 19, 2026. After an underwhelming season, Agaba, 23, who joined Haifa last summer from Olimpija Ljubljana, played 24 matches and scored one goal in the Israeli Premier League. The loan deal is without a transfer fee and frees up a foreign player slot in Haifa's squad. This move allows Maccabi Haifa to register Andrea Novaković for their upcoming match against Hapoel Ramat Gan in the first round of the league. Prior to the loan, Agaba had been negotiating with clubs in Slovenia and Austria. The club's announcement was first reported by Sport Channel 5.
