Peter Agaba, the 23-year-old Nigerian midfielder of Maccabi Haifa, is close to leaving the Israeli club on a free loan deal to a Hungarian league team within the next 48 hours. Agaba, who joined Maccabi Haifa last summer from Olimpija Ljubljana, played 24 matches and scored one goal in the Israeli Premier League last season but failed to impress sufficiently to secure his place in the squad. The club aims to complete the loan transfer quickly to free up a roster spot for a foreign player and register Andrea Novakovic for the upcoming match against Hapoel Ramat Gan in the first round of the State Cup. Recently, Agaba was in Slovenia and Austria negotiating with potential clubs before this move was finalized.
