Netanyahu Visits Wounded Soldier at Ariel University Medical Center
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited Ariel University on Tuesday, where he met with Amit Malkana, a soldier who was wounded by sniper fire in a battle in Gaza a year and a half ago. During the visit to the university's medical school and regional medical center, Netanyahu expressed his admiration for Malkana's recovery, telling him, "You look great." Malkana thanked Netanyahu, saying, "I wanted to say thank you very much." Netanyahu inquired about the treatment Malkana was receiving, learning that he was undergoing psychological therapy rather than physical therapy. The prime minister also thanked Ayala, the psychologist present, who praised Netanyahu's leadership and called Malkana a great inspiration.
The visit marked a full circle moment, as Netanyahu had laid the cornerstone for the medical school in 2017. Nine years later, the school and medical center are fully operational, providing education, research, and medical services to the region. Ariel University President Professor Ehud Grossman welcomed Netanyahu and highlighted the institution's growth into a vibrant center combining academia and healthcare for the local community.
