Netanyahu Visits IDF Induction Base, Emphasizes Unity Among New Combat Recruits

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited the induction and sorting base at Tel Hashomer on Wednesday, where he met with new combat recruits destined for the Givati Brigade and the Artillery Corps. The meeting took place early in the enlistment process, before the recruits donned their uniforms. Netanyahu engaged in an open dialogue with the young soldiers, answering their questions about military service and upcoming challenges.

Following the discussion, Netanyahu highlighted the broad diversity among the recruits, noting they came from all parts of Israel, including religious and secular backgrounds, urban and rural areas, north and south. He described them as a "mosaic of Israel" and stressed that the unity within Israeli society is much stronger than commonly perceived. He emphasized their shared mission to defend the country and expressed confidence in a common future.

Addressing the families who accompanied the recruits on their complex induction day, Netanyahu offered reassurance, promising support and protection for both the soldiers and their parents. "We send you to protect the country, and we will also protect you," he said, concluding with words of encouragement for the new soldiers to succeed in their service.
