Netanyahu Visits IDF Wounded at Rambam Hospital, Praises Their Spirit and Unity
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited wounded Israel Defense Forces soldiers at Rambam Hospital in Haifa on Tuesday. The visit aimed to assess the condition of both regular and reserve soldiers hospitalized due to injuries sustained in the ongoing war. Netanyahu was accompanied by Dr. Michal Mekel, CEO of Rambam Medical Center, who briefed him on the rehabilitation processes, complex surgeries, and the comprehensive medical and psychological care provided to the soldiers.
During personal meetings at the soldiers' bedsides, Netanyahu listened to their stories of bravery from the front lines and their challenging recovery journeys. Responding to a soldier named Yonatan, Netanyahu addressed the social cohesion in Israel, contrasting it with the political divide in the Knesset. He stated, "There is much deeper and broader unity among the people than is reflected in the parliament, and you represent that unity most distinctly."
Netanyahu expressed deep admiration for the soldiers' mental resilience and was visibly moved by the encounter. He said, "I admire you, and I am always impressed by your spirit. I do not say this lightly, I truly am amazed. I know you are going through a difficult journey, but your spirit is tremendous."
He concluded by praising the quality of care at Rambam Hospital, asserting, "I do not think there is any place in the world with better treatment. On the contrary, I say there is no place in the world that provides such skill, speed, dedication, and success. Therefore, I wish you good health and a speedy recovery."
