National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir spent the weekend in Jerusalem with injured Israeli police officers and their families, participating in a special event honoring their sacrifices. The weekend, titled "Heroism in Jerusalem," was organized in collaboration with the Ministry of National Security, the Ministry of Heritage, and the Western Wall Heritage Foundation. It included tours, emotional prayers, open meetings, and Shabbat meals.
Ben-Gvir expressed his pride in being part of the event, highlighting that such cooperation and support for injured police officers is unprecedented. The minister also noted the shift in attitude, stating that while injured IDF soldiers have long received support, injured police officers are now receiving similar care.
Reflecting on the police officers' actions during the October 7 attacks, Ben-Gvir praised their courage and dedication, saying they left everything behind to fight and save the country. He described the weekend as a "Shabbat of heroes," focused on honoring those who have sacrificed for the state with sincere gratitude and support.
