Iranian Report Details Draft US Deal With Sanctions Relief and $300 Billion Recovery Plan

Iranian news agency Mehr said on Monday that it had obtained the full outline of a dramatic, unprecedented agreement taking shape between the United States and Iran. The report describes major American concessions, including a complete halt to military activity, troop withdrawals, sanctions relief, and a massive Western-funded reconstruction package.

On security, the reported terms would end all warfare on every front immediately and permanently, including in Lebanon. The naval blockade would be lifted completely within 30 days, and the United States would withdraw its forces from areas near Iran’s borders. Washington would also formally pledge not to interfere in Iran’s internal affairs and to respect the Islamic Republic’s full sovereignty.

On economics and energy, the Strait of Hormuz would reopen within 30 days under local Iranian arrangements. Sanctions on oil sales, petrochemical products and related output would be frozen immediately, while Iran would receive unrestricted access to all of its frozen financial assets worldwide.

The report also says the United States and its allies would present an extraordinary economic recovery plan for Iran worth at least $300 billion. In the political track, the sides would enter 60 days of intensive talks aimed at a final agreement, focused on Iran’s nuclear program and on removing all major and secondary US sanctions. The emerging deal would also cancel UN Security Council decisions and resolutions by the International Atomic Energy Agency’s Board of Governors against Tehran.
