Iranian report says draft U.S. deal would lift sanctions and reduce military presence
Iran’s Mehr news agency says an emerging memorandum of understanding with Washington would include a U.S. commitment to lift sanctions and withdraw American forces from areas near Iran. The report says the final talks would focus on nuclear issues and the economy, but would not cover Iran’s missile program.
According to the agency, the draft also calls for reopening the Strait of Hormuz, ending sanctions on oil, and releasing frozen Iranian funds. The proposed arrangement has not yet received final approval.
