Israeli Officials: Netanyahu Told Trump Israel Will Not Withdraw from Lebanon
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told U.S. President Donald Trump that Israel will not pull back from Lebanon and does not consider itself bound by the Lebanon-related clause in the agreement with Iran, according to Israeli officials.
The officials said Netanyahu also made clear that the Israel Defense Forces will remain in their current positions in Lebanon. He said they will continue operating to counter the threat from Hezbollah, including destroying terror infrastructure and responding to any attack against Israel.
Cabinet ministers reportedly understood that Israel is standing firm on its interests in Lebanon, and that Netanyahu received full backing at the cabinet meeting.
