Channel 14 Falsely Portrays Civilian as Former Military Attorney in Controversy

Following a Supreme Court decision allowing the prosecution to resume work on the case involving the dismissed Chief Military Prosecutor Yifat Tomer-Yerushalmi, a legal source suggested she may soon receive a plea deal offer. This deal would involve her admitting to the alleged offenses and receiving a sentence that would enable her to conclude the matter and return to normal life, as reported by Channel 14.

However, on Sunday evening, Channel 14 went further by sending investigative reporters to confront the former military prosecutor. The channel posted a video on Twitter claiming it showed Yifat Tomer-Yerushalmi choosing to remain silent when questioned. Upon closer inspection, the footage actually featured an innocent civilian woman who happened to be nearby, not the former military prosecutor.

In the video, a Channel 14 investigator approaches the woman and asks if she wants to apologize to soldiers from "Force 100," to which she responds confusedly that she is not giving an interview. The reporter then asks why she is silent. This incident sparked criticism, highlighting the channel's misleading reporting. The case itself remains highly sensitive, with legal commentators calling it one of the most serious before the Supreme Court.
