i24NEWS Crew Attacked While Reporting on Rising Antisemitism in Northern Ireland

An i24NEWS team was assaulted last week in Belfast, Northern Ireland, while filming a report on the increasing wave of antisemitism across Europe. Reporter Yonatan Roah and cameraman Nadav Abas were attacked after their Israeli media affiliation became known during interviews in a bar area. A man approached, attempted to seize their equipment, and when unsuccessful, disrupted the filming and acted aggressively. Despite efforts to de-escalate and move away, the assailant continued to threaten them. Security was called, but the attacker threw a glass beer mug at Abas, striking him in the head and causing a bleeding cut. The crew left immediately; Abas required only initial first aid and both returned safely to Israel.
