Hapoel Jerusalem Demands Solidarity Payment from Hapoel Tel Aviv for Kadyn Carrington Transfer

Kadyn Carrington, who starred for four years at Hapoel Jerusalem before signing with Hapoel Tel Aviv this summer, has prompted a payment dispute between the two clubs. Hapoel Jerusalem is demanding a solidarity or development fee from Hapoel Tel Aviv, citing the Israeli Basketball Association regulations that entitle a club to such fees if a player has played at least three consecutive seasons in the Israeli Premier League with them. The Jerusalem club sent a letter requesting details of Carrington's contract with Hapoel Tel Aviv, coached by Dimitris Itoudis, to calculate the amount owed.

During his four seasons with Hapoel Jerusalem, the 30-year-old guard, standing 1.93 meters tall, won two State Cups, two Winner Cups, and one Israeli Super Cup. Carrington, who represents the Israeli national team and participated in the recent EuroBasket and World Cup qualifiers, previously played for clubs including Mornar Bar, Limburg, Ludwigsburg, Monaco, Betis, and Dijon before moving to Israel.

In the Israeli Premier League, Carrington averaged 13.2 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per regular season over four years. In the last EuroCup season, he posted averages of 14.8 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 2.1 assists. The dispute highlights the financial and contractual complexities involved in player transfers within Israeli basketball.
