MK Elazar Stern Leaves Yesh Atid to Join Gadi Eizenkot's Yashar Party

On Friday, Member of Knesset Elazar Stern announced his resignation from the Knesset and his departure from the Yesh Atid party. According to reports, Stern intends to join the Yashar party led by former IDF Chief of Staff Gadi Eizenkot and is currently in talks with him. In an interview on Kan Reshet Bet, Stern expressed his support for Eizenkot as the leader of the political bloc, stating that Naftali Bennett should concede leadership quickly since Eizenkot is the consensus candidate backed by the entire bloc and enjoys broad trust, as reflected in recent polls.

Recent surveys show that Eizenkot's party remains the largest, while the Yachad party, led by Bennett who allied with Yesh Atid, continues to decline, securing only 12 seats. In terms of prime ministerial preference, Eizenkot leads over Benjamin Netanyahu, whereas Bennett receives only 6 percent support. Stern's departure marks another setback for Yesh Atid and its alliance with Bennett.
