Family Denies Rumors Linking Missing Israeli Bank Employee to Financial Misconduct

The family of Mally and Liel Yahalomi, who have been missing in Vienna since Friday, responded to widespread rumors connecting their disappearance to Mally's employment at Bank of Jerusalem. The family emphasized that they will only address verified information from official sources and reiterated the bank's statement that no irregularities were found in its funds or assets.

The Bank of Jerusalem also issued a statement denying any connection between the disappearance and the bank's operations. CEO Yair Kaplan warned employees against spreading unsubstantiated rumors that could harm Mally and her family. Despite the rumors, the bank's stock experienced a sharp decline amid the speculation but the bank assured customers that normal operations and financial controls remain intact.

Vienna police confirmed there is no evidence of criminal activity related to the disappearance and investigations continue in both Austria and Israel to trace the women’s whereabouts. Israeli authorities, including the Foreign Ministry and police, are leading the case, with an Israeli police representative currently in Vienna assisting the investigation. Some details of the case remain under a gag order. Reports of Mossad involvement in the search have not been confirmed by Israeli officials.

The family urged the public to rely solely on official updates and refrain from spreading unverified claims. The two women have been missing since August 7, after losing contact during their stay in Vienna.
