Israeli Strike Kills Gaza Police Commander Jamal Mahmoud Abu Kamil
The Gaza Interior Ministry confirmed that Jamal Mahmoud Abu Kamil, the commander of the Gaza police district, was killed in an Israeli airstrike targeting his vehicle in the Gaza Strip. Footage from the scene showed the vehicle engulfed in flames while civilians attempted to extinguish the fire. Earlier the same day, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported another strike in Gaza targeting a Hamas military battalion commander in the Khan Yunis area. According to the IDF, the battalion commander was planning terrorist attacks against Israeli forces operating in Gaza. The airstrike aimed to neutralize the threat posed by this commander. The IDF Southern Command stated that its forces remain deployed in the area under existing agreements and will continue operations to eliminate any immediate threats.
