Israeli Football Fans Form National Association to Advocate for Supporters' Rights

A historic development for Israeli football fans took place on Wednesday with the official establishment of the "Israeli Football Fans Association." This new organization represents 11 fan clubs and associations across the country and aims to promote supporters' rights and enhance the fan experience at stadiums. Peleg Levinzon from the "Brothers to the Emblem" group, representing Maccabi Tel Aviv fans, emphasized that decisions affecting hundreds of thousands of fans were previously made without genuine fan representation. He stated the association was created to change this by forming a professional, responsible, and influential body to engage with decision-makers on behalf of fans from all teams and leagues.

The association's leadership outlined key focus areas including ticket and concession prices, match scheduling, entry procedures and queues, security, and accessibility. The association emerged from collaborative efforts among fan representatives over the past three years. Current member organizations include "Brothers to the Emblem," "Blue Brotherhood" (Hapoel Petah Tikva fans), "Northern Stand" (Maccabi Haifa fans), "Versmilia" (Be'er Sheva fans), as well as supporters of Hapoel Jerusalem and Maccabi Jaffa.

Barak Metzger of the Northern Stand stressed that the association is open to any local group representing its fans, committed to constructive dialogue and active participation. He added that as more fan groups join, the association will better ensure that supporters' voices are heard and their rights and experiences become central in Israeli football decision-making.
