White House to Demand Explanation from Israel Over Violence in Palestinian Village Kusra

The recent unrest in the Palestinian village of Kusra has raised concerns within the U.S. administration, with reports indicating dissatisfaction over Israel's security forces' response to the violence. The White House, observing the situation closely, believes Israel is not acting sufficiently to curb the disturbances. A senior White House official is expected to discuss the matter with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office, seeking clarifications on the security establishment's apprehensions and reasons for its limited action against the rioters.

In response to the escalating tensions, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) are reinforcing their presence in the Kusra area. Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir has ordered the deployment of an additional infantry battalion to strengthen operational control and prevent further serious incidents. Additional forces remain on standby to be deployed as necessary.

Earlier, security forces entered Kusra to dismantle an illegal outpost established there. Central Command Chief Avi Blot visited the site and conducted an inspection. The IDF confirmed the outpost's evacuation was completed, with Border Police units remaining to secure the area. However, settlers who had set up the outpost reportedly stayed behind with their equipment. Families trapped in a house surrounded by the village claimed that IDF forces withdrew, leaving the settlers who are now reportedly rebuilding the outpost.
