Hapoel Jerusalem Signs Youth Forward Lior Hershko to Four-Year Deal

Hapoel Jerusalem announced the signing of 18-year-old forward Lior Hershko, a member of Israel's youth national basketball team, to a four-year contract extending through the 2029/30 season. Standing 2.01 meters tall, Hershko will be loaned to Elitzur Shomron in the Israeli National League for the upcoming season to continue his professional development. Concurrently, he will maintain regular training and collaboration with Hapoel Jerusalem's coaching staff.

Hershko, a product of the Emek Hefer youth system, is regarded as one of the most promising young talents in Israeli basketball. Last summer, he captained Israel's youth national team at the European Championship, averaging 6 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 2 assists over seven games.

Dan Shamir, Hapoel Jerusalem's professional manager, praised Hershko as one of the most talented players in his age group and emphasized the club's long-term vision. Shamir stated, "We believe strongly in his potential and aim to build a pathway for young talents to develop into significant players for Hapoel in the future."
