Yanai sent Rodman a detailed letter explaining the club's recent progress, including winning the EuroCup, securing a spot in the EuroLeague, and finishing among Europe's top six teams in their first EuroLeague season. Despite these achievements, Yanai emphasized the team's ongoing need to improve rebounding, a skill Rodman famously mastered.

In the letter, Yanai expressed admiration for Rodman's approach to rebounding, describing it as a precise science involving shot angles, ball spin, and positioning. Yanai proposed a visit to Tel Aviv where Rodman would spend a relaxed Sunday, lead a special rebounding session with the team the next day, participate in a VIP interview, and enjoy a dinner before departing. The club offered to cover business-class flights and hotel accommodations for Rodman and up to three guests, along with a participation fee of $75,000.

Yanai also highlighted that media content from Rodman's visit would be used for the club's marketing and promotion. He invited Rodman to experience Tel Aviv's nightlife with VIP access, promising a warm welcome from himself, the club, and thousands of passionate Hapoel fans. Yanai concluded by noting the difficult times Israel has faced recently and expressed hope that Rodman's visit would bring joy and positive experiences to the city and its people.
