Israeli Lone Soldiers in North Celebrate Birthdays with Gifts from Families in Los Angeles

Lone soldiers serving in northern Israel received a heartfelt surprise on their birthdays when volunteers from the "Otzem LaChayal" initiative delivered personal gifts sent by their families from Los Angeles. Despite being thousands of kilometers away from home, these soldiers were touched by the thoughtful presents, which included not only gifts but also vouchers and treats, reminding them that their families were with them in spirit.

One soldier named Ido expressed deep emotion upon receiving his gift, saying, "For a moment, I felt they were here with me. It was a hug from home I will never forget." Another soldier, Shani, who was surprised on her birthday, shared her gratitude and said, "You really don’t understand how much this moves me. I didn’t expect it at all, especially since my family is so far away. You made my day."

Yigal, a combatant in the Combat Engineering Corps, recounted how the surprise awaited him after training: "I came back from training and suddenly saw the entire surprise you prepared, all the soldiers with you. I really didn’t expect it; it was an amazing and emotional moment." The initiative highlights the importance of supporting lone soldiers who serve far from their families, especially on significant personal occasions like birthdays.
