Chef Ron Yohananov Faces Social Media Backlash After Joining Channel 14, Supported by Eden Harel

Chef and food blogger Ron Yohananov, host of the third season of "Shabbat Flavors" on Channel 14, revealed that many social media users unfollowed him after he announced his collaboration with the channel. Yohananov emphasized that he is not politically affiliated and that the cooking show aims solely to reach new audiences and share his recipes. The new season is set to premiere on September 4.

In response to the backlash, Channel 14 news presenter Eden Harel publicly supported Yohananov, urging her tens of thousands of followers to send him love and follow him. Yohananov expressed frustration with the boycott, pointing out the hypocrisy of those unfollowing him for working with Channel 14, noting he did not face similar reactions when working with other Israeli channels like Keshet 12 or Channel 13.

Despite the criticism, Yohananov remains committed to his work, sharing that the new season will be filmed in northern Israel, specifically in Kiryat Shmona, a region affected by conflict over the past three years. He described cooking as a unifying act that brings people together around the table and expressed his passion for sharing recipes with all Israeli households.

The social media boycott ultimately boosted Yohananov's exposure, with his Instagram post garnering over 141,000 views and thousands of interactions, indicating significant public support. Eden Harel's backing highlighted solidarity within the media community amid the controversy.
