News Anchor Dana Ron Faces Online Backlash After Supporting MK Tzvi Sukkot's Actions

Dana Ron, a news presenter at Channel 14, revealed on Thursday that she has been subjected to intense online criticism and hateful comments from left-wing audiences since she began hosting on the channel. The backlash intensified after she publicly supported Member of Knesset Tzvi Sukkot, who recently destroyed memorials in a West Bank Arab village that honored terrorists responsible for killing Jews. Ron described the volume of negative responses as "unreasonable," highlighting the disparity between the left's self-portrayal as tolerant and their hostile behavior towards her.

In a video posted on her Facebook page, Ron defended Sukkot's actions, questioning why such memorials were erected in the first place and emphasizing the harmful message they send to children who see these tributes to Jewish murderers. She also shared some of the harsh comments she received, including insults like "pathetic woman" and accusations of supporting "fascists from the settlements."

Sukkot himself has called on the Israel Defense Forces to remove all terrorist memorials in the region as part of the fight against terrorism. Earlier this week, footage of Sukkot smashing these memorials circulated widely, though some reports omitted that the monuments commemorated terrorists with Jewish blood on their hands. The IDF criticized Sukkot's actions, stating that forces were unnecessarily diverted and endangered.

Ron concluded her response to critics by urging them to exercise "a bit of self-awareness," underscoring the tension between political narratives and personal attacks in the current Israeli media and political landscape.
