Golani Brigade Welcomes New Recruits Amid Ongoing Combat Legacy

Hundreds of young recruits began their service in the Golani Brigade, following three years of continuous frontline combat. The brigade, known as "the people's brigade," has been a leading force in every operation and maneuver since October 7, 2023, often arriving first and leaving last. The new recruits arrived at the Golani recruitment plaza with excitement and some apprehension, greeted by commanders who had prepared for weeks to welcome them.

Captain L, commander of the August 2026 recruitment cycle, expressed his deep pride and excitement, emphasizing the brigade's combat achievements and its symbolic status within the Israel Defense Forces. He highlighted the brigade's approach to training, which prioritizes a respectful and human relationship between commanders and soldiers, aiming to ease the sharp transition from civilian life to military service. "We treat our soldiers like younger brothers or our own children," he said, stressing the importance of this bond in preparing them for the mission.

The current recruitment cycle carries special significance due to the ongoing conflict, with recruits fully aware of the harsh realities they face and the legacy of sacrifice left by their predecessors. Captain L underscored the brigade's core value: "The most important thing for a Golani soldier is that we do not return without completing the mission. The mission is the highest value. First we fulfill the mission, then everything else."

In a message to the parents entrusting their children to the brigade, Captain L acknowledged the immense responsibility and assured them that the commanders are committed to training the soldiers rigorously and ensuring their safe return. As the new generation of fighters embarks on their journey, they carry forward the Golani Brigade’s proud heritage and focus on the ultimate goal: victory.
