New Nahal Brigade Recruits Begin Training at Tel Hashomer Base

New recruits of the Nahal Brigade assembled on Sunday at the Mitav base in Tel Hashomer to start their military service and training as future fighters and commanders of the "green brigade." Before receiving their fresh recruits, company commanders at the brigade's training base met with the new soldiers to emphasize the importance of mental preparedness and focus. One commander recalled the emotional first day of enlistment, describing the initial uncertainty and camaraderie among recruits.

The commanders highlighted the Nahal Brigade's distinguished combat record, especially since October 7, when it was at the forefront of fighting in the Gaza Strip. They noted that the brigade has operated across nearly every area in Gaza and has been involved in key hostage rescue rehearsals. The commanders stressed the brigade’s strong sense of family and values, encouraging recruits to take pride in joining.

Regarding the initial training phase, commanders advised recruits to arrive mentally ready rather than just logistically prepared. They assured parents about the quality of food, accommodations, and equipment, noting that the facilities have been recently upgraded and that soldiers will sometimes train with combat rations to prepare for complex scenarios. Commanders also addressed concerns about discipline, emphasizing their goal to develop strong, ethical, and professional soldiers.

In closing, the commanders asked for support and wished success in preparing the next generation of Nahal fighters, who will serve on the front lines in Israel’s ongoing conflict. They expressed hope that these new soldiers will contribute to future victories in the country’s most critical war of the past three years.
