Elon Musk Denies SpaceX Is Buying Israeli AI Startup Decart

Elon Musk has denied reports that SpaceX is in advanced talks to acquire the Israeli artificial intelligence startup Decart. Responding to a post on the social media platform X that claimed SpaceX was negotiating a purchase valued at 6 to 7 billion dollars, Musk labeled the report as "fake news." The post, which cited an article from the Israeli financial news outlet Calcalist, suggested the deal could close within a week and featured logos of both Decart and SpaceX. After Musk's denial, the post was deleted by its author, who later acknowledged that Musk had refuted the claim.

Calcalist's original report stated that Decart was nearing a sale to a major international tech company for around 6 billion dollars but did not disclose the buyer's identity. Industry insiders speculated that SpaceX might be the purchaser, with Amazon and the cloud company Nebius also mentioned as potential bidders. Decart had previously negotiated with Nvidia but chose to proceed with a higher offer from another party. Decart declined to comment on the reports, and Nvidia neither confirmed nor denied prior talks but is believed to have ended negotiations.

Founded in 2023 by former Unit 8200 veterans Dean Leitersdorf and Moshe Shalev, Decart employs about 100 people and specializes in real-time video generation technologies. The company gained attention for its AI-driven interactive game Oasis. Three months ago, Decart raised $300 million at a valuation of approximately $4 billion, bringing total funding since inception to around $450 million.
