Vizhnitz Chief Rabbi Arrives Early in Israel Ahead of Major Hasidic Gathering

Thousands of Vizhnitz Hasidim were surprised and delighted today by the unexpected news that Rabbi Chaim Meir Hager, the Chief Rabbi (Av Beit Din) of Vizhnitz, is en route to Israel for an upcoming large-scale Hasidic gathering in Jerusalem. Rabbi Hager departed suddenly from his home in the United States to arrive earlier than originally planned.

The early arrival is timed ahead of a major assembly of tens of thousands of Hasidim scheduled for tomorrow at the large study hall of the Gur Hasidic dynasty in Jerusalem, led by the Vizhnitz Rebbe. Initially, Rabbi Hager was expected to come only around the Jewish month of Tishrei, but a decision was made during the day to advance his flight to enhance the event with his presence.
