Prominent Bnei Brak Community Leader Rabbi Moshe Klein Passes Away at 76

Rabbi Moshe Klein, a well-known public figure in Bnei Brak, passed away at the age of 76 after collapsing at Emek Hospital in Afula. Rabbi Klein was a founding member of the Kiryat Herzog neighborhood and led the Beit Chanoch institutions, dedicating much of his life to supporting disadvantaged populations. In the 1990s, he ran for mayor of Bnei Brak, aiming to expand his public service contributions.

Rabbi Klein's name also became widely known following a dramatic incident about 20 years ago. While engaged in charitable activities preparing food in the institution's kitchen on Gnichovsky Street, a gas balloon exploded, causing a severe fire. He suffered extensive burns over his body and was hospitalized in critical condition at Sheba Medical Center in Tel Hashomer. After a prolonged struggle and widespread public prayers, he made a remarkable recovery. In 2010, he commemorated this personal miracle during a moving Torah scroll dedication event.

His funeral procession will depart this evening from the Kiryat Herzog neighborhood in Bnei Brak to Segula Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest.
