Prominent Bnei Brak Haredi Activist Rabbi Moshe Klein Dies at 76

Rabbi Moshe Klein, a well-known Haredi community activist and builder in Bnei Brak, passed away at the age of 76. Known affectionately as Rabbi Moishele, he was a founding figure of the Kiryat Herzog neighborhood and led the Beit Chanoch institutions. Born in 1950 to Rabbi Aryeh Klein and Sarah, he dedicated decades to advancing Torah education, community development, and charitable work in Bnei Brak.

Rabbi Klein played a central role in establishing and strengthening Torah and educational institutions in Kiryat Herzog, contributing significantly to the neighborhood's growth. He also headed the Beit Chanoch institutions, focusing on educating children and supporting the needy. In the 1990s, he ran for mayor of Bnei Brak, aiming to expand the city's religious and communal activities.

A dramatic event in 2005 marked his life when a gas balloon explosion in the Beit Chanoch kitchen caused severe burns. After critical hospitalization at Sheba Medical Center, he miraculously recovered, later celebrating the event with a Torah scroll dedication in 2010. Rabbi Klein maintained a close relationship with Rabbi David Abuchatzeira, the Admor of the Abuchatzeira dynasty, and in recent years grew closer to the Premishlan Hasidic court.

Friends and residents remember him as a sincere, open-hearted activist who tirelessly worked for the community and was always ready to help others. Funeral and shiva details will be announced later. May his soul be bound in the bond of life.
