Former Player Sean Daniel Appointed Assistant to Maccabi Tel Aviv Basketball GM Claudio Coldebella
Maccabi Tel Aviv announced on August 10, 2026, the surprising appointment of Sean Daniel as assistant to the club's professional manager, Claudio Coldebella. Sean Daniel, son of Moti Daniel, began his basketball career in Hapoel Holon’s youth teams and later won a double championship with Maccabi Tel Aviv’s youth squad. He played six years in Israel’s youth national teams and six years in the Israeli Premier League from 2009 to 2015, representing Hapoel Holon, Maccabi Ashdod, and Ironi Ramat Gan.
After retiring as a player, Daniel held various managerial and professional roles at "Real Player" from 2017 to 2023 and has since co-managed Maccabi Tel Aviv Shoham alongside Alon Ben Zaken. Club chairman Shimon Mizrahi praised Daniel’s basketball heritage and said he will be Coldebella’s right hand, strengthening ties between the senior team and youth development.
Coldebella expressed enthusiasm for Daniel’s appointment, highlighting his unique profile as both player and manager and his understanding of all levels of Israeli basketball. He emphasized their shared commitment to a long-term sports vision, open communication, and mutual trust.
