Maccabi Tel Aviv Appoints Sean Daniel as Assistant to Sporting Director Claudio Coldebella

Maccabi Tel Aviv made a surprising appointment on Monday, naming Sean Daniel as assistant to the club's sporting director, Claudio Coldebella. Sean Daniel, a former player and son of Moti Daniel, a club legend and Israel national team manager, has recently served as the organizational and sporting manager at Maccabi Tel Aviv-Shoham. Club chairman Shimon Mizrahi emphasized the importance of this addition, noting Sean's deep basketball roots and his role in strengthening ties between the senior team and youth development.

Coldebella highlighted that Daniel's appointment will enhance coordination between the youth department and the senior squad, ensuring better player development and clearer pathways for young talents to reach top levels. He also expressed gratitude to Alon Ben Zaken for his cooperation and support throughout the process, anticipating continued collaboration for the club's benefit.

Additionally, Maccabi Tel Aviv announced the return of forward-center Shane Hunter from loan. Standing 2.08 meters tall and 25 years old, Hunter signed a three-year contract last summer. Coach Oded Katash praised Hunter's depth contribution to the front line, noting his strong movement without the ball, high shooting percentages near the basket, rebounding, mobility in pick-and-roll situations, and defensive shot-blocking impact.

Hunter played last season with Legia Warsaw in the Polish league, averaging 9.2 points on 63% shooting, 5 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks per game, while also performing well in his debut FIBA Champions League season with 8.8 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 12 efficiency points per game.
