Israeli Health Ministry Urges Urgent Blood Donations Amid Severe O Negative Shortage
The Israeli Ministry of Health and Magen David Adom have issued an urgent call for the public to donate blood at collection centers nationwide due to a significant drop in the national blood supply. The shortage is particularly acute for O negative blood type units. Moshe Bar Siman-Tov, Director General of the Ministry of Health, emphasized that donating blood is a simple act that saves lives and urged those who have not donated in over three months to come forward again. Blood units are essential for surgeries, childbirth, medical treatments, emergency responses, as well as for the defense forces and soldiers wounded in combat.
