Magen David Adom Continues Blood Drives in Ultra-Orthodox Communities with Hundreds Donating

Magen David Adom (MDA) has seen hundreds of residents from ultra-Orthodox communities respond to its call for blood donations during the summer months. Over the past two months, approximately 375 blood units have been collected in various drives across Israel, with the number expected to rise as additional donation events take place this week.

The blood drives have been held in cities including Modi'in Illit, Haifa, Beit Shemesh, Bnei Brak, Elad, and Givat Ze'ev. Notably, a drive at the Ezer Mizion center in Bnei Brak yielded 134 units, while another in Beit Shemesh collected 102 units, including a separate drive for women. A recent donation event at the Yevia Omer synagogue in Bnei Brak also saw high participation, though its results are not yet included in the total count.

MDA emphasizes the critical importance of ongoing blood donations to maintain adequate supplies for patients and trauma victims. They urge the public to continue donating, highlighting that each unit of blood can save lives. Upcoming donation events are scheduled for Beit Shemesh on Tuesday, Elad on Wednesday, and Givat Ze'ev on Thursday, with specific times and locations provided.

The organization calls on those who have not yet participated to join the effort in the coming days to help secure the blood supply needed throughout the year.
