Israeli Police Arrest Man in Kisra-Sumei with Gun and Homemade Bomb in Car
On July 17, 2026, early in the morning, Northern District police stopped a vehicle in the village of Kisra-Sumei after discovering it had cloned license plates that did not match the car type. During the search, officers found a loaded Glock pistol on the suspect's person, plastic explosives between his legs, and an improvised explosive device containing an electric detonator on the floor of the seat where he had been sitting.
The suspect, a 29-year-old local resident, was arrested and his detention was extended multiple times. Following the investigation, the Haifa District Prosecutor's Office filed an indictment against him at the Haifa District Court, along with a request to keep him in custody until the end of legal proceedings.
The police emphasized the seriousness of the weapons and explosives found during the operation, which was part of ongoing security efforts in the region. The case remains under judicial review as authorities continue their investigation.
