Hillel Leibovitz, Charitable Leader and Shaare Zedek Executive, Passes Away After Long Illness

Hillel Leibovitz, chairman of the Horev institutions, a senior member of the Shaare Zedek Medical Center board, and owner of the Ramat Tamir assisted living facility, died last weekend following a prolonged illness. He was also the brother-in-law of Rabbi Uzi Kalkhaim. Leibovitz's funeral took place last Thursday, and his family is sitting shiva at their home on Ben Zion Street 23 in Jerusalem.

Leibovitz volunteered for over 40 years on the Shaare Zedek board, dedicating himself to the hospital's development, expansion, and enhancement of services for Jerusalem residents. Shaare Zedek described him as a visionary and a man of action, committed to charity and kindness, who worked with devotion, humility, and integrity in all his endeavors.

Known for his personal attention and support to patients, Leibovitz often woke early to volunteer driving patients to hospitals. Colleagues praised his kindness, wisdom, pleasant demeanor, and radiant presence, which positively impacted everyone around him. Shaare Zedek expressed deep sorrow at his passing, stating he will be greatly missed by the entire hospital family.
