Father of Fallen Soldier Accuses Netanyahu Advisers of Treason Over Classified Leak to Qatar
Eyal Eshel, father of the late Roni Eshel, expressed deep shock and anguish following reports that three advisers to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu leaked classified information to Qatar during the recent war. The leak allegedly aimed to implicate Egypt, a move Eshel condemns as a betrayal. In a heartfelt message to his late daughter, Eshel wrote, "For three years I refused to use the harsh word, but today it became clear there was treason. It is hard to breathe seeing the headline screaming the unbelievable: officials in the Prime Minister's Office shared information during wartime with those who financed your murder. Do you understand what this means, my child? From the holiest sanctum of the State of Israel, there were those who collaborated with the hands that hold your blood. My heart cannot bear this. Rot in hell!"
The report first appeared in Israel Hayom and has sparked strong reactions, including from former Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, who vowed to "eradicate this cancer from within us." The revelations come amid ongoing tensions and investigations into internal leaks during the conflict. The incident raises serious concerns about security breaches at the highest levels of government during a critical period of war.
