Israeli Security Forces Arrest Suspect After Stolen Car Chase Near Ofra Settlement

On Saturday morning, a security alert was issued in the West Bank settlement of Ofra following a high-speed chase involving a stolen vehicle. The suspect broke through a security checkpoint during the pursuit and attempted to flee on foot after exiting the car. Israeli security forces quickly responded to the scene, and an officer involved in the arrest procedure fired shots at the suspect, who was subsequently detained and handed over to the Judea and Samaria police district for further investigation. Separately, overnight IDF troops conducted searches near Kibbutz Zikim in the Gaza border area after a breach was discovered in the kibbutz's security fence. The regional security officer reported the cut, but no suspects were found, and it was unclear when the breach occurred. The IDF continued to inspect the area to rule out any unusual activity and confirmed there was no unauthorized crossing from Gaza into Israel. After nearly two hours, normal routine was restored at the kibbutz.
